Seven Seas Voyager, Ryndam & AIDAsol

Just a quick post today with an update from over the weekend.

SEVEN SEAS VOYAGER

On Saturday (12/07/14) Seven Seas Voyager called at Bontelabo terminal. I was not around to see her sail, but took the following photos of her alongside earlier in the afternoon.

Seven Seas Voyager was completed in 2003 for Regent Seven Seas Cruises. She is a mid-sized cruise ship, at 42,300 GRT, catering for just 700 passengers in her all-suite accommodation.

RYNDAM 

Today I watched Holland America Line's Ryndam sailing uder the Askøy Bridge on her way to Geiranger.

Built in 1994, Ryndam is the third Statendam Class ship built for Holland America Line following their acquisition by Carnival. She is due to be retired from Holland America in April 2015, when she will be refitted and re-enter service under the P&O Australia brand.

AIDASOL

 Also departing Bergen this afternoon was AIDAsol, a Sphynx Class cruise ship operated by the German run AIDA Cruises.

Completed in 2011, she has a gross tonnage of just over 71,000 and carries around 2,100 passengers on any single voyage.

AIDAsol made her way under the bridge and onwards towards her next port of call, Hellesylt.

MS Trollfjord - Photo Tour

Up next in the series of photo tours on board the ships of Hurtigruten is MS Trollfjord. Regular readers of this blog will know the drill by now; MS Trollfjord is one of a fleet of 11 ships that together offer daily departures from Bergen on the Express route along the coast of Norway. The ships serve a dual roll as both cruise ships and cargo ships, and are vital in connecting many of the smaller communities in the northern part of the country. MS Nordlys - Photo Tour

Second in our current series of photo tours aboard the ships in the Hurtigruten fleet is MS Nordlys. Along with her fleetmates she sails the 11-day round trip from Bergen, calling at 34 ports along the coast of Norway. The route is popular with cruise tourists keen to experience 'the most beautiful voyage in the world', and also serves as a lifeline for many smaller communities in Norway's more isolated north.
